I have learned a lot by writing my feelings out about this series. Neon Blue has more adventures and I want to find them for her. Until I post more on this blog I will be working on other blogs for each of my series. I will post the blog address' here as they come up.

"Neon's Obsession" detail

Friday, October 07, 2005

"Neon Travels Far and Wide"
24x18 oil on canvas
available in giclee $235
also available in prints, mugs and t-shirts

"Neon Travels Far and Wide" ... there are adventures to be had around any corner... all we have to do is decide to visit them. Neon Blue is full of regret though. She is a dreamer and a prima dona ... she simply cannot help herself.

related song I wrote:

"I Know a Time"

1)
Dreams encircle my mind
and live up to promises
stolen by time.
Take back the time
when dreams were young
were mine.

2)
Slide into shadows and waves
remembered by some..
Some who were young
some who were young
remember the days
those days.

3)
Dreams colide or abide
testing their way
some will decay.
But I miss
I miss
the closeness of you.

4)
A blow delivered by fate
she smiles and eyes know
and dances to rhymes
but will always remember
the time
and so goes the time
so goes the time.

"Neon's Obsession"
18x24 oil on canvas
available in giclee $300. rolled and tubed
also available in prints, mugs and t-shirts

"Neon's Obsession" makes my mind buzz with all kinds of scenarios. What happened her and what is she thinking? What will happen later?

I love the whole playfulness of this series. I think it offers an adventure without traveling. I cannot wait to get back to this series!

This poem is by Anis Nin... it is the only poem on my blogs not written by me. I post it because I love it.

I wept because the process by which I became a woman was painful.
I wept because from now on I would weep less.
I wept because I had lost my pain
and I was not accustomed to it's abscence.

Detail: "Bubble Time"

Sunday, October 02, 2005

"Bubble Time"
24x18 oil on canvas
available in giclee $235
also available in prints, mugs and t-shirts

"Bubble Time" goes along with the whole "Neon Blue" idea. Not just because the images are painted in blue. It is the whole idea of getting dressed up with no place to go. Or being in high school, getting ready for a dance, going, and then never being asked to dance. The fun was in getting ready. Jeeze... I don't want to spend my life getting ready... or do I? People always say to enjoy the process and to live in the moment. Hummm....

This poem I wrote seems fitting:

"Tiny Remains"
Unconnected thoughts
that ring in much decay.
Where the survivors scramble
and tears never end.
Emotions run high
and moods decide.
Generosity is a cure for strangers.
but you
and I
divide into equal parts
and squabble over tiny remains.

"Pieces of Glass"
24x18 oil on canvas
available in giclee $235.
also availble in prints, mugs & t-shirts.

This painting reminds me of broken hearts, man's capability of abusing other souls...

a fitting poem:

Stop the rainbow
I cannot believe it anymore.
I'm taunted with a key
that won't unlock
a prison door.
Somewhere outside
I know there are people
who discover broken glasses,
and in secret
take their pieces
and fly them away.
The moonless night
calls for a heavy snow.
The pieces of glass
hold out their arms
and say,
"Is this all that you will do for us?
We're in pieces with no shelter."
